About the scheme
Mera Gaon – Mera Gaurav scheme aims
- It was launch in 2015.
- The Mera Gaon – Mera Gaurav scheme envisages scientists to select villages and provide information to the farmers on technical and other related aspects.
- Also they will keep in touch with the villages.
- They will provide informations to farmers on all aspect of agriculture to ensure and increase the productivity.
- It includes scientist functioning at the various centres and institutes of the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) and working with state agricultural universities.
- They may function with the help of (Krishi Vijyan Kendra)KVKs and Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA).
Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) funding pattern is 90% by the central Government and 10% by the state government. And was launched during 2005-06.
Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) aims at
- The registered office of the ATMA shall be located at district collectorate premises.
- To identify location specific needs of farming community.
- To set up priorities for sustainable agricultural development with a Farming Systems Approach.
- To draw plans for production based system activities to be undertaken by farmers/ultimate users.
- To execute plans through line departments, training institutions, NGOs, farmers organizations and allied institutions.
- To coordinate efforts being made by various line departments, NGOs, farmers organizations and allied institutions to strengthen research extension-farmers linkages in the district and to promote collaboration and coordination between various State funded technical departments.
- To facilitate the empowerment of farmers/products through assistance for mobilization, organization into associations, cooperatives etc. for their increased participation in planning, marketing, technology dissemination and agro-processing etc.
- To facilitate market interventions for value addition to farm produce.
Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR)
- ICAR was founded in 1929.
- It is autonomous body in Inida which is responsible for coordinating agricultural education and research.
- It is also considered to be a science driven path to resolve the various agricultural and farming problems.
- There are many colleges under ICAR.
