Kisan Suryoday Yojana launched by PM in Gujarat. It aims for the improvement of farmers.
Kisan Suryoday Yojana
- Kisan Suryodaya Yojana farmers will get 3 phase power supply from 5 AM to 9 PM.
- Rs 3,500 crore will be spent over the next three years for providing solar power to farmers for irrigation during daytime
- Under this scheme, about 3500 circuit kilometers of new transmission lines will be laid in the next 2-3 years.
- It will be implemented in more than a thousand villages in the coming days.
- Most of these villages are in tribal dominated areas.
- It including setting up of nine 220 KV substations and 234 new transmission lines of 66 KV.
- Around 234 transmission lines are to be installed under the scheme.
- It is preparing a completely new capacity of transmission, without affecting the other existing systems.
- At initial phase farmers in 1,055 villages in Junagadh, Gir Somnath and Dahod districts will be given solar power and this scheme will be extended to farmers across the state in next three years.
- They are to be erected to a total length of 3,490 km.
- Additional 220 KV substations are to be installed.
Impact of the Scheme
- Groundwater irrigation is currently completely driven by electricity.
- By providing electricity farmers can irrigate their land based on the need of the crop.
- Kisan Suryodaya Yojana would help in the expansion of micro irrigation in the state.
- This work continuously in line with the changing times to help the farmers in doubling their income, by reducing their investment and overcoming their difficulties.
- It will change the lives of lakhs of farmers once the entire Gujarat gets the power supply through this scheme.
