BRICS Counter-Terrorism Action Plan has been finalized at the groups working group meet that took place from 28th to 29th July under the chairmanship of India.

- The action plan is the result of the BRICS leaders adoption of the BRICS counter-terrorism strategy in 2020.
- Prior to the meeting of the BRICS Counter-Terrorism Working Group, five themed sub-working groups were held in July 26 to 27.

- The plan will be adopted at the BRICS National Security Advisors meeting that will take place in August.
- The plan implements BRICS Counter-Terrorism Strategy adopted by BRICS Leaders in 2020.
- Condemning terrorism in all its forms and by whomsoever committed the BRICS countries.
- Also exchanged views on terrorism threat assessment at national, regional and global level and resolved to further enhance counter-terrorism cooperation in line with the Action Plan.

BRICS Counter-Terrorism Strategy
The objective of BRICS counter-terrorism cooperation is to complement and strengthen the existing bilateral and multilateral ties among the BRICS countries. Also to make a meaningful contribution to the global efforts of preventing and combating the threat of terrorism.
- Strengthen their unity in countering international terrorism and its financing.
- Respect for the sovereignty of the participating countries and noninterference in their internal affairs.
- Improve the practical cooperation among security and law-enforcement authorities to prevent and combat terrorism
- Suppress the facilitation of terrorist groups, entities and associated persons by not making available to them any resources, such as human, financial, or material, including weaponry.
- Pursue collectively the adoption of a Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism.
- Strengthen cooperation against the misuse of information and telecommunication technology for terrorist and other criminal purposes.
- Broaden their counter-terrorism cooperation with the United Nations,as well as the G-20 and the FATF.
- Promote public awareness and participation in counter-terrorism efforts.
