Source : PIB - The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has organised the summit to provide a centralised forum to deliberate on the most critical challenges that India and the world face in delivering healthcare, with a focus on the digital transformations that result in improved patient outcomes and experience.

- With the vision of PM Health has been linked with development in India.
- Earlier, health was meant for treatment only.
- Linkage of health with development will bring health & prosperity in India.
- Need for Summit
- Preventive care is an essential component of health sector.
- Initiatives like Yoga, Khelo India etc play a significant role in realising the aim of healthy society.
- Government is working towards achieving objectives like Access, Accountability, Affordability, Adoption and Awareness for a better future of healthcare sector.
- Campaigns like ‘Dawai Bhi Kadai Bhi’ and ‘Do Gaj ki Doori, Mask hai Zaruri’ reached out to the masses and helped curb the COVID-19 infection in the country are examples.
About Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)
- Its is a non-governmental trade association and advocacy group headquartered in New Delhi,
- CII is the story of the transformation of a miniscule association, representing a small segment of industry, to the premier business association of modern India.
- In 1991, industrial licensing was abolished during economic reforms on a wide scale started taking shape.
- With effect from 1st January 1992, in keeping with the government’s decision to opt for the liberalisation of the Indian economy the name of Confederation of Engineering Industry(CEI) was changed to Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
