• ‘USE HEART FOR EVERY HEART’ is the theme of World Heart Day 2022.
• World Heart Day is a time to pause and reflect on how we may utilise our hearts to benefit mankind, nature, and ourselves.

  • To participate in this essential cause.
  • According to the WHF, it is one of the few things that has the capacity to unify all people.
• For Every Heart:
  • This phrase includes the word ‘FOR’.
  • It is necessary to change the action to serve everyone.
  • It is supported by three pillars:
    • Use heart for humanity.
    • Use heart for Nature.
    • Use heart for You.

Indian Initiatives

• Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR), launched the district’s Indian Hypertension Control Initiative (IHCI).
• Maharashtra’s AI-Driven Program:
  • Ischemic heart disease raises the risk of heart attacks, the most prevalent of which is ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI), which causes the most premature fatalities.
  • The Maharashtra government has created the STEMI programme, a state-wide Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven project, to address the current issue.
  • It is recognised by the National Health Mission (NHM) as an advanced diagnosis and care coordination programme.
  • The goal is to provide quick treatment at all state-run medical facilities, as well as a speedy detection of cardiac disorders.
• The Cardiological Society of India (CSI) and Skills Academic Training and Simulation (SATS) announced the launch of an initiative to raise awareness about the imminent danger of Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) and teach basic principles of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (CPR).
